ESMINT and ESNR have signed an agreement to formalize their collaboration. The purpose is to strengthen their joint commitment to education, training, examination, and certification in interventional neuroradiology (INR) across Europe.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishes a framework for joint initiatives to promote the common interests of both societies, ensuring efficient communication and cooperation in representing the discipline of interventional neuroradiology at both national and European levels.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Anne Christine Januel and Prof. Tarek Yousry, Presidents of ESMINT and ESNR, respectively, alongside Prof. Christian Taschner, General Secretary of ESMINT, Prof. Andrea Rossi, Vice-President of ESNR, Dr. Zsolt Kulcsár, Past President of ESMINT, and Prof. Cem Calli, Treasurer of ESNR. “This historic agreement is a significant step forward in establishing unified standards for neurointerventional practices across Europe,” said Dr. Anne Christine Januel. “By collaborating closely, ESMINT and ESNR will enhance the quality of care for patients and ensure that practitioners throughout the continent adhere to the highest standards.”

The agreement aims to strengthen the commitment of both societies to ongoing collaboration by advancing unified standards for interventional neuroradiological practices throughout Europe. By emphasizing specialized training, education, examination, and certification, ESMINT and ESNR are dedicated to fostering an environment where practitioners can thrive, ultimately enhancing the quality of care for patients. “This partnership represents a vital step toward ensuring that all neurointerventional professionals have the resources and support needed to achieve the highest levels of excellence”, said Prof. Tarek Yousry.

ESMINT (European Society of Minimally Invasive Neurological Therapy) was established in 2009 to promote the benefits of minimally invasive neurological therapies in Europe through training and education and high-quality scientific research. It is an interdisciplinary society, representing medical practitioners and scientists working in the field of neuroradiology, interventional neuroradiology, neurointerventional surgery, endovascular neurosurgery, and vascular neurology.
ESNR (European Society of Neuroradiology), established in 1969, aims to promote diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology, to demonstrate its value in healthcare and to society, and to promote and enhance education, training and research of this radiological subspecialty for the ultimate benefit of the patients. ESNR works with neuroradiologists from different European and non-European countries, and with other organizations that share similar missions and objectives on a worldwide scale, with the ultimate goal of providing and leading education, training and research in Neuroradiology.
