ADHD diagnosis, treatment pathways, and societal understanding have evolved significantly over the past two decades. Increased awareness and reduced stigma have improved access to care, yet clinicians now face new challenges including rising diagnostic demand, service pressures, and changing expectations from patients and families.

This expert roundtable brings together leading European specialists — Prof. Sven Bölte (Karolinska Institute, Sweden), Dr Maite Ferrin (Haringey NHS Partnership & University College London, UK), and Prof. Tobias Banaschewski (Central Institute of Mental Health, Heidelberg University, Germany) — to explore both the broader landscape of ADHD and the practical realities of delivering personalised treatment in clinical practice. Presented across two sessions, the discussion forms one continuous educational programme combining clinical evidence, expert experience, and real-world insight.

▶️ Part 1: The Big Picture of ADHD — Where Are We Now?

The first session explores the evolving landscape of ADHD, examining shifts in diagnostic thinking, increasing prevalence, and changing societal perspectives across Europe.

Key themes include:

• ADHD as a dimensional neurodevelopmental condition
• Diagnostic culture and rising assessment demand
• Neurodiversity and its impact on clinical practice
• Current approaches to treatment and system pressures across healthcare systems

▶️ Part 2: Individualising ADHD Treatment — When, Why, and How

The second session focuses on practical clinical decision-making and personalised management strategies, addressing how treatment can be tailored to individual patient needs.

Topics discussed include:

• Multimodal treatment in real-world practice
• Pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches
• Patient and family perspectives on treatment
• ADHD heterogeneity and comorbidities
• Barriers to treatment access and service fragmentation
• The future of ADHD care, including precision medicine and digital innovation
